Berliner Philharmoniker

French horn player Stefan Dohr represents his instrument second to none: as an acclaimed soloist, chamber musician and Principal Horn of the Berlin Philharmonic he is an icon in the international landscape of wind instruments. Regardless of core repertoire for horn or contemporary compositions, his interpretations are widely considered as exemplary. Driven by Dohr’s exploratory spirit and virtuosity, many leading composers dedicate horn concertos to him, amongst them Toshio Hosokawa and Wolfgang Rihm.

As a soloist, Dohr has worked with conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, Claudio Abbado, Daniel Barenboim, Bernhard Haitink, Christian Thielemann and Daniel Harding and has been invited by orchestras such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Oslo Philharmonic, Shanghai Philharmonic, NHK Symphony Orchestra and Osaka Philharmonic.
